Paradise Dental Care was opened in 1992 after Dr. Bill Goldner sold one of South Florida's largest group practices, here in Key West, one he had developed over the previous 15 years.  As sole owner he directed a practice with three to four general dentists, several dental hygienists and two part-time specialists.  Despite this success Dr Goldner found that he was no longer able to devote the time and dedication to each individual patient as he had desired.  He sold the practice to his associates and began a smaller, solo practice devoted to Excellence in Service, Esthetics and Technique.  He named it Paradise Dental Care with these goals in mind.  This bold career move was very worthwhile, as he now practices the high-tech, personalized Esthetic dentistry which he most enjoys.  Additionally, Paradise Dental Care has attracted a diverse and delightful patient population that is a pleasure to work with.   This yields the professional pride and satisfaction which is of foremost importance at this point in his career.

E. William Goldner, D.D.S.

Education
Dr Goldner received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Miami and a Doctor of  Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, in 1974.  He has participated in hundreds of hours of dental continuing education, far exceeding the state-required mandates, and has kept his hunger for improved and innovative treatment options alive throughout his career. His passion for  adhesive resin dentistry  has coincided with the introduction and improvement of these materials, and he was one of the early users of these tooth-strengthening and cosmetic restorative materials, as well as one of the first dentists to offer Porcelain Laminate Veneers in the 1980's.  His major emphasis in dental continuing education for the last twenty plus years has been in Cosmetic Dentistry.  He has studied with most of the masters of this discipline, and continues to do so.

Personal Interests and Family

After two years of private practice outside of Washington, DC, Dr. Bill Goldner decided to return to South Florida, and specifically to the beautiful island of Key West.  On a previous visit he was taken with the island life, and with the warm and diversified community of Key Westers  with whom he wished to live and to treat professionally.  He soon met Beverly, and they recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary.  Dr.Beverly Goldner holds a doctorate degree from the University of Florida in Speech-Language studies, and worked for many years both teaching and providing services for adults, and most recently for Early Childhood Intervention.  She now assists Bill Goldner in the administration of Paradise Dental Care, and is invaluable in shaping its direction and accomplishing its mission.

The Goldners have two children, born and raised in Key West and the Lower Keys.  Josey is a May 2008 magna cum laude  graduate from the University of Central Florida and attends the University of St Augustine For Health Sciences, completing a degree in Occupational Therapy.   Eliot received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida in May 2009, and is a resident in Emergency Medicine at Orlando Regional Medical Center, a level-one trauma center.

Dr Goldner has been a musician most of his life, playing his first gig at age 13, then working summers in the Catskill Mountain resorts, and weekends at private functions and clubs.  He worked most weekends during dental school with a 9 piece rock dance band, but also played string bass through grade school.  His musical tastes are diverse, and he is pleased to be a long time member of the Paradise Big Band, which has given concerts and played for dances and large functions for the last eleven years.  He also appears with the Southernmost Brass, Bill Blue and the Nervous Guys, and other local bands.  The Goldners support  and enjoy the local Arts in all forms, are regular theater patrons and attend a great variety of the arts events that Key West offers.  Dr Goldner also enjoys fishing the flats.

Our Team
Having staffed practices in Key West for over thirty years,  Dr Goldner feels blessed to work with the best team he has ever assembled.   You will find four individuals with excellent technical skills, who will treat you with the respect and compassion that you deserve.  This is a trait that is not  "learned", but rather fostered in the environment we maintain.  It should be apparent that we respect and enjoy each other, and our profession, as well.

Your first contact was probably  with Chrissy, our West Coast transplant with a wonderful smile, who is cheerful, upbeat and yet attended to our every detail.   Chrissy was with us for almost six years, but recently left Key West to follow her dreams.  She earned admittance and a scholarship to the Film School at the University of Tampa.  We will miss her greatly, but are happy to see her sieze opportunity she worked so hard for. Wendy  returned to the Keys several years ago,  to raise her two children and to give them the opportunity to experience the ocean and the lifestyle she loves.  She previously lived in Key West for eight years, working in the travel industry and teaching pre-school.  Wendy always had an interest in dentistry as a career and took formal study before she and husband Nate relocated here.  Despite her limited experience it was evident to Dr Goldner and all of us that Wendy would be a great addition to our team.  Wendy is now in her third year with our practice and last year earned her State of Florida Dental Radiographer certification.  Wendy also completed and earned her State of Florida Certification as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant in March, 2010.  When she assists at your next visit, you will recognize why we are so happy to have her here.  Not only has she mastered some great technical skills, but Wendy also exemplifies the qualities of warmth, caring and service upon which our practice was built.  Wendy is now our primary Clinical Assistant, and does an outstanding job! Lourdes is our new Dental Hygienist, but previously worked for Dr Goldner for seven years starting in 1985.  She was an assistant in Dr Goldner's large group practice and became the practice manager soon after he sold the practice to his associates.  Lourdes decided to further her dental education and received a degree from FKCC, then did further coursework at FIU before entering the Miami Dade College Medical Campus.   With the support of her husband Robert and their two Key West High School student children, Lourdes accomplished her goal of becoming a Florida Registered Dental Hygienist.  In 2008 Lourdes received the South Florida Dental Hygiene Association Certificate of Commendation- Most Outstanding Graduate in Dental Hygiene.  Dr Goldner is thrilled to have Lourdes rejoin the practice.  Her integrity, devotion to patient health, and up-to-date knowledge of periodontal care are a perfect complement to her thorough and gentle treatment.  We have never had such consistent and exciting feedback from our patients about any dental hygienist in the last 35 years!

Our whole team looks forward to your visit to
PARADISE DENTAL CARE!

As Team Leader,  I am often amazed how much great feedback we receive from local and visitor dental guests concerning the level of service, friendliness and "Good Vibes" they feel from our wonderful staff.  Many of their comments are posted on this site, others are just exchanged quietly in gratitude.  They all remind us the value of doing things right, and thereby enjoying our profession.
